15.3 - Fungi
The group fungi includes mushrooms, molds and yeasts. Mushrooms are exclusively multicellular, whereas yeasts are exclusively unicellular. Fungi live in moist environments, usually acting as decomposers of waste materials. However, some fungi will grow in any suitable environment, which can include the surface or moist areas of a human body. Many human diseases are caused by pathogenic or opportunistic fungi.

Examples: Candida yeasts cause yeast infections (vaginal and oral are the most common); Microsporum fungi cause athlete's foot and ringworm
