16.9 - Cell-mediated Immunity
Cell-mediated immunity involves the direct contact between T-lymphocytes and other cells.

There are three types of T-lymphocytes involved in cell-mediated immunity:
  • Helper T cells
  • Cytotoxic T cells (Killer T cells)
  • Regulatory T cells
    • Release supporessor factors once the body is no longer under threat from invaders
    • May play a role in preventing autoimmune disease
