You are an entrepreneur in the fastest growing market on the continent – cellular phones. You have to analyze who is demanding cell phone service, where they are, the growth potential of this market, and determine what kind of store you will open.

Instructional Plan

Lesson Time: 1-3 classes
The students will have an opportunity to start their own business. The business targets the largest market on the continent – cellular phones. Students start by researching the target market using resources provided above. If the teacher desires, they can also search online. All resources needed to complete the project are listed above.
The students will create a business « idea » logo, and slogan for a new cell phone store in Africa. The business plan outline will include who the store targets and why, what kind of services their store will offer and why, and an estimate on their business’ growth over 5 years.
